Many thanks for choosing Conservatives on the 3rd May.

Q. Why is this happening?

A. Bexley’s Conservative Council decided to reduce the number of Councillors from 63 to 45 to save you money. This means more money is available for essential services for residents.

Q. When will this happen?

A. This happened at the Council Elections in May 2018.

Q. Why are the wards changing?

A. It’s a manifesto promise fulfilled! The Conservative manifesto for the Bexley Council elections in 2014 promised that we would ask the Boundary Commission to create new wards requiring fewer Councillors.

Q. Who do I contact?

A. Contact the new West Heath Conservative Councillors, Cllr. John Davey, Cllr. Philip Read, Cllr. Peter Reader or David Evennett MP if you live in his Constituency.

Q. What have Bexley Council already done to keep down the cost of your Councillors?

A. When the Conservatives took over Bexley Council from Labour in 2006, they cancelled Labour’s proposed Councillors’ Allowance increase and have not increased it since.

Q. What happened to the proposed Constituency boundary changes?

A. The revised Boundary Commission proposed changes have just been published and you can see them here: www.bce2018.org.uk. Bexley Conservatives are opposed to many of these but they are entirely separate from the West Heath Ward changes.

Q. I am interested in my local area and want to become involved?

A. The Conservative Action Team members are coordinating the new West Heath Ward Team. If you want to help in any way contact us.

Q. Will I still be in Bexley?

A. Yes, borough boundaries are not changing. The new West Heath Ward borders Greenwich, which continues to be responsible for Bostall Heath and parts of the roads: Knee Hill, Lodge Hill, Brampton Road and Longleigh Lane.

From Lodge Hill, Knee Hill and Steven’s Park in the West and Lesnes Abbey Woods and Bostall Heath in the North.

To Belvedere Sports Ground, Hythe Avenue and Hollingbourne Avenue in the East and Shakespeare Road and Gipsy Road in the South.
